BBC Sport (LDS)

This project showcases a series of social media thumbnails created for BBC Sport, covering a range of sports and stories. The work focuses on developing engaging visual concepts and A/B options, allowing different creative approaches to be tested across BBC Sport’s varied audiences and platforms.

This set of thumbnails was created for a boxing podcast exploring the idea of creating the perfect boxer. The brief called for a Frankenstein-inspired visual style with an element of mystery, leading to the concept of a patched-together boxer built from different parts, surrounded by the podcast’s presenters. These were the final creative options selected for use.

This set of thumbnails was created for a boxing show featuring Tommy and John Fury. With a loose brief centred around creating a strong boxing feel, I explored the structure of the ring, using the ropes and corner posts as key graphic elements. The design was developed as a flexible template, allowing different imagery to be dropped into the central space to reflect the topics discussed in each episode.

This set of thumbnails was created for a football tactics video exploring the new low block. The brief called for two creative approaches: one using a live football image enhanced with tactical arrows to highlight the defensive shape, and another using a ready-made tactics board asset to visually recreate the low block. These were the final outcomes.
